Well done EP, Westmoors and falcarius. Lots of great performances this month.

I ran my first mile time trial since April, back then a PB of 6:34. Now, after a longer break due to illness, I tried fast running for the first time in over 2 months. My goal was 4:30 min/km or 7:15 m/m. I surprised myself with a sub 7 on first attempt, 6:58. I managed a pretty even pace throughout, no bad fading like in my first attempts. I'm getting better at judging the effort.

Another positive result: I exceeded Stryd's power prediction for the mile by 10 W so I'm fitter than my device gives me credit for. It was a really useful benchmark for the training in the coming weeks.

Great effort and great to know you're fitter than you and Stryd thought.

Well done Tipsku.

I have a 10K Sunday that is my target race so I decided to still go to track and do my own thing instead of a long session.

My first mile attempt in a while and rather pleased to get my time down from 7.02 last time to 6.52.

Cheers, I actually took 12 seconds off as my time was 7.04 in March. Even more pleasing

Thank you all and well done Sombrero, that's a neat improvement. Good luck on Sunday!

About This Thread

Maintained by Fenland Flier
For encouragement and general chat about the virtual mile challenges.

It's not easy pacing a mile race whether it's virtual or real, be it on track, road, grass or trail. Go out too hard initially and struggle towards the end, go out too soft and regret your finish time.

Use this thread to record your jubilation or allow us to commiserate with you.
