That's awesome, WayOfTheDodo, what a strong finish!
Incidentally, I also clocked a 6:54 as my fastest mile during a 5k race so I got a sub-7 for the month already. I'll make a proper mile attempt later this month, maybe next week or the week after.

I've only run once this month so far, due to hospital appointments and illness and probably won't get another chance to run again before the end of the month. Not my fastest mile but my fastest time on that parkrun route this year, so I'll take that :)

Sorry to read that DoricQuine but I hope it's mostly behind you now and you're back to running regularly soon.

hello, thought I might give this a try. Are most people using their benchmarks to find their best mile of the month or going out and running a bespoke mile ?

I think its a mix DocM. I'm doing the same bespoke mile each month.

Did my mile today. My spreadsheet predicted 8:08 but I only managed 8:25. Lungs were burning and head throbbing at the end so I think it was a fair effort. SB :-)

Well done Looby Loo I seem to be going backwards too but I haven't got around to Mays mile yet.

About This Thread

Maintained by Fenland Flier
For encouragement and general chat about the virtual mile challenges.

It's not easy pacing a mile race whether it's virtual or real, be it on track, road, grass or trail. Go out too hard initially and struggle towards the end, go out too soft and regret your finish time.

Use this thread to record your jubilation or allow us to commiserate with you.
