Thanks all. Sorry I've not replied sooner but it's been rather busy recently, looking forward to a holiday. Another day and a half and then 10 days off. Phew.

I managed to do it, finally. I didn't get around before the marathon but now with recovered legs, I got a new benchmark of 6:34 for the mile. Nice PB. I'll try to get under 6:30 next month when I'm fully recovered. My legs still felt a bit leaden but I could run fast on them. No pain, no niggles, just a shock to the system after the slower tempo paces of marathon training. My lungs wanted to cancel their subscription :-)

Well done tipsku. I got my mile PB 8 days before my marathon PB back in 2017. You have a very good chance of smashing that new PB and I'm wishing you all the very best for it.

Brilliant stuff, tipsku!
Meant to go comfy yet quick for me. Wasn't comfy. Happy to post 7.56, though, and to shake out a few cobwebs as it were.

Also first ever run with our 10 month old Flossie. Just a mile ( much slower than the one above). Went well and bodes well for future😀

Well done Wezza

Have we got any more takers before the end of the month?

About This Thread

Maintained by Fenland Flier
For encouragement and general chat about the virtual mile challenges.

It's not easy pacing a mile race whether it's virtual or real, be it on track, road, grass or trail. Go out too hard initially and struggle towards the end, go out too soft and regret your finish time.

Use this thread to record your jubilation or allow us to commiserate with you.
