I haven't forgotten, either. It hasn't been above zero since 25th Nov, so I can't train short intervals or put in a decent effort on snow and ice, especially on a thin layer of old snow with rounded grains πŸ₯²

I haven't forgotten either. Had planned to do my mile last Tuesday, but came down with a head cold so have delayed it until next week.

I ran today! πŸŽ‰πŸ€Έβ€β™€οΈπŸ’ƒπŸΎπŸ₯°
Can you tell I'm pleased?🀣

First run since September so I'm feeling pretty chuffed with myself. I did a warm up walk then 20 mins run/walk doing 20 seconds run and 40 seconds walk then a cool down walk. The run/walk part was over a mile so it qualifies πŸ˜‰Managed to run all the run periods and finished feeling I could have done a bit more, so all good. Of course lugging over a stone less around is bound to have helped too!

That's terrific to read DoricQuine and a benchmark to beat next time around. Very well done and something to build on. πŸƒβ€β™€οΈπŸƒβ€β™€οΈπŸƒβ€β™€οΈ

That's great news DQ!

I'll be attempting to run faster once I've got this Half on Feb 4th out of the way. Right now I'm getting slower and slower.

About This Thread

Maintained by Fenland Flier
For encouragement and general chat about the virtual mile challenges.

It's not easy pacing a mile race whether it's virtual or real, be it on track, road, grass or trail. Go out too hard initially and struggle towards the end, go out too soft and regret your finish time.

Use this thread to record your jubilation or allow us to commiserate with you.
