Good luck geordiegirl hope it settles down. Weird how these things seem to come out of nowhere. 'Something' will have caused it ...but often our detective work just isn't sneaky enough to pinpoint that something. x

CRIKEY. Have managed the three first days in a row as per CG's plan. Day off tomorrow THANK GOD. Have done it in three days, with heavier weights, rather than the seven days it took back in late March.

Am ready for that rest day - don't even have track tomorrow. Not sure I will do Full Body on Friday, will see how I feel and if it's sensible on aging carcase.

CasB I was the same with day 4 yesterday, started off thinking I need to get some bigger weights but by round 3 was glad I didn’t have any.

2 days post day 4 session and my quads have definite DOMS. I'm loving the feeling of actually having made my body work! Would love to crack on with day 5 but I won't have time today, hopefully tomorrow though.

Sounds like you've worked well Elsie Too! Yes, that's such a good feeling isn't it. I've managed to escape the day 4 DOMS until I go from bottom to top at home (we have a loft conversion) and then I know my glutes did some work! I'm enjoying feeling that my muscles have generally woken up again though. Hope you can fit in day 5 tomorrow.

My second go at Day Four - the first full body one. I was pleased to increase weights from last time (have blogged details) If I can complete Day Five on Saturday I'll feel a sense of satisfaction, to have ABSOLUTELY stuck to her plan with no cheating!

Doing fewer sessions per week is deffo NOT cheating ... but short changing the effort deffo is!

Nice work Sharkie.

I've done day 5 with 2.5kg weights. The body weight stuff was really hard - kept having to remind myself that my body weight is heavier than Caroline's so not surprising that I was no where close to the same number of reps as her!

Have done it! Quite pleased with self. Those first five sessions properly completed within Caroline's time scale (ie one week.)

Have to admit I was pretty tired for Day Five this afternoon after a heavy sprint session at track this morning. But I reckoned as it was arms (biceps and triceps ) and abs, I should be able to slog through. Used 2 x 5kg throughout apart from rather gingerly done Skull crushers which were with a single 8kg.

Well done Sharkie! That's a satisfying achievement.

I've also just done day 5. Kept the weights a bit lower (3kg) though I think I can try 5kg next time, and swapped out a couple of the reverse crunch-style exercises as my back complained a bit, so I stuck to what I know is safe. I'm off to start my new job this morning and can definitely tell I've worked my arms well, so I'm sure it'll be fun at around 3pm when I discover they no longer work :-)

Another 30 minute upper body session done today. Challenging enough for me, had to skip one exercise as my back not strong enough to do it but managed everything else.

Very grateful I still have only very light dumbbells 🙃

Caroline Girvan - tiny but tough, sweet but strong.

Here's a thread rather in the manner of the Shred craze that swept Fetchland some years ago, or perhaps more recently (and less bossily) Adriene's 30 Days of Yoga each year. I found Caroline Girvan via geordiegirl (ta, GG!) and am well impressed with her workouts. I'm currently on Day 27 of her 30 day Iron Series and have STUCK TO IT. Wonders will never cease, I was beginning to despair of the likelihood of me getting any sort...
