Why? Is there something she likes about her current school. Friends? Or is she worried about having to start again? I imagine that would be terrifying.

And can you speak to her pastoral head of year about how other teachers respond to her?

But putting a child down isn't something a teacher should do. I can't think of the word I'm looking for but it's not an acceptable thing to do.

I’m furious on your behalf Linds. The school need to have a rethink about their ethos. Shaming young people should not be part of your acceptable classroom practice.
