Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

Returned to what is my new home parkrun for the first time since my bicycle crash with the idea of getting a realistic benchmark that I could test against.

4 miles WU and a 17.49 effort with over 12 mins in ZONE5!!!!! (WAVA OVER 80%) and only 24 seconds from my course best. Last 36 seconds were at 5mm average and I nearly through up :¬)

I have to say after last weeks disappointing run on a fast flat course this is really encouraging.

I love the heat so I guess that helps :¬)

Rebranding comments, I guess I have stopped listening, complaining or moaning now.

I just turn up sometimes, do what I want, volunteer enough for my conscience. Avoid debates with the evangelists and leave :¬)

It is not what I signed up for anymore and I wouldn't get properly involved in starting one again(done 3) but I still get a timed effort when I need one and in a strange way that is probably enough for me now.

Am in East Midlands next Saturday. Was looking at Leamington as a possible. Not sure what happened there but a record 764 runners this saturday? maybe Coventry was off?

Might look for a smaller one now...

Yep Leamington was a big secret that it turns out everyone knew about as there was a parkrun conference it Warwick. Chrissie Wellington, Vassos from Radio 2 etc.

I was RD at Stratford and crammed my freezer full of 200 Mr Freeze ice pops on Weds evening for Saturday. They went down really well with our runners we had an ice pop marshal dishing them out near the scanners.
