Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

In the same way that people who live in hot countries adjust to running in the heat, I am working on the theory that running during this hot spell is going to eventually lead to us all to smashing our PB's in the autumn and winter!
That's my theory anyway :)

I felt hideous and I was only volunteering.... we had a heat exhaustion collapse. He's ok though. On the plus side I met the lovely K8 at last :)

parkrun PB whilst touristing at Congleton today, first time that's happened since 2011 so well chuffed. That's 2 PBs (5K and 5M) in the last 5 days!

Beautiful and friendly event. A flat, fast, 3 lapper around what one of the locals called 'Congleton beach'. Well worth a visit if anyone is ever in the area. Nice little cafe too :)

@Weath, Congleton is my 3rd nearest parkrun, it's a nice course isn't it? Also love that one lap of the mere is exactly one mile, it's like they created it for runners :-)

Thanks Doc. Really am enjoying my running at the moment more than ever and I think that somewhat takes the pressure off.

Mix that up with some of the interesting places/people I'm meeting on a current little bout of touristing (Boston was lovely last week too) and my current physical/mental state is just about perfect.

@Sigh - not only is the actual course nice (and yes, the 1M lap is a little bit too uncanny lol), it's located in such a nice setting as well. Today's weather made it feel like we were on our holidays, was just so relaxing.

Thanks for the 'grats! :)

Well done Weath!

Andrew65, I like that theory, hope it’s eight! :-)

Nice bit of tourism at Gnoll today. Nice scenic one in a country park, 3 laps of increasing length each time, very warm for running though.

Hoping to do the fairly-new Aberdare parkrun in a few weeks time, and will be doing Mile End when we’re in London in August.

10 miles done this morning which included my 2nd fastest parkrun this year. Should have started nearer the front to get a 28....but it was hot hot hot so didn't want to knock myself out
