Well...that was hideous!
It was too hot, I set off too fast, and I had to take a walking break for the first time ever on a parkrun

:(

I got a parkrun walking pb, 43 minutes! I'm walking because I'm injured. It was nice to have Metro Nome for company for some of it as she was tail walker, but then my 10yo slowed down so she had to stay being him and shanksi for the second half.

It was a lovely morning for running at Keswick provided you didn't go at it like a maniac. There were a few fallers on the loose rough trail. I went comfortably hard and enjoyed it :)

Sigh
First visit to Northwich parkrun, what a lovely course! Must go back when it's cold, wet and muddy to truly appreciate it :-)

Lovely progressive run at Ellenbrook. Very hot and very little shade on or off the course. But a respectable time despite the heat.

Progressive run at Kettering, started quite far back and gradually moved up places, was easier once off the single file path.

I overheard someone say something about parkrun being re-branded to parkactive, to make it more inclusive.
Anyone else heard this?

Ah, if inclusion were as simple as that. Brexitactive springs to mind. And for the occasional participant, parkpassive.

I decided it was too hot to run so volunteered to do timing instead - 55 minutes of standing in the direct sun has given me the headache from hell, I'd have been better off running!

Having to run close to race pace just to get there at 8.59am isn't great preparation for the parkrun itself especially when its this hot. Enjoyable run though!
