The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

HQs social media was going to be a bin fire no matter who was in charge. That's just social media for you.

The controversial choices (stats, gender/sex, cancellation notices etc) are all (imho!) entirely justifiable and reasonable. By just about every objective measure, parkrun is successful and has continued to be so. It's become a colloquialism in the UK at least, and there are very few people that haven't heard of it.

Yes, Pearson set up a consultancy fee on the sly and didn't disclose the conflict of interest. He put his hands in the till

Jefferys didn't do that. He did kind of oversee an era of mediocrity of retail though. Contra failed and is now OOB. Parkrun tshirts are never in stock. He threw away about a quarter million with his magazine vanity project. You can have a hoody for £70 if you like though.
