I am in the 220s I think and whether I take my 250 will depend on sizing... I can never get them small enough so dont wear them generally. Except my 50 Nike tee which is perfect.

I haven't reached any milestones yet but wouldn't be averse to paying a small charge for milestone t-shirts.

Hypothetically, if charging were ever to be introduced, how would you go about it?

On the basis that the free t-shirt is a cultural part of parkrun today, you'd need to change it slowly (but decisively).

My approach might be something like this:-
- Communicate that in three months time a new approach will be brought in - you claim your t-shirt, and there's an "opt out" choice to receive a free t-shirt, but if you don't opt out (because you're convinced by some text which persuades you that t-shirts = money = strain on parkrun's resources). Pick a reasonable price point, say £5 inc delivery, and allow parkrunners to pay that (or more) if they want, but still give out free if that's what the parkrun community wants
- 12 months after that, communicate that in 3 months time t-shirts will be charged for at the reasonable fee quoted above

So you'd end up with an 18 month window during which those who insist on free can still get free ones, but an education window which allows the financial burden to diminish on parkrun.

Hypothetical, but plausible?

a better model would be you only get a free t shirt if your number of volunteer days exceeds the number of runs. 50 runs + 50 volunteer days =free t shirt. 50 runs + no volunteer days = £5 or what ever they cost.

In an effort to change the subject of the thread away from another rehash of this topic, has anyone done the Salisbury winter course? I don't leave the distant north very often and would like to pick something good.

The Salisbury summer course was convoluted and repetitive enough...

From what I understand the loops on grass are omitted and it's 4 laps not 3.

Well worth the drive to Moors Valley in my opinion...

The last thing we would want is discussing a relevant topic again and again when we could be counting to some number in a pointless fashion, repeat the same in-joke endlessly, discuss where people are going to stand at the London Marathon or indeed ask whether "anyone has run X course"

All have their merit I'd say!

Especially to the 78 new users in the last 10 minutes!
