I think you did the right thing ER. It shouldn't really be more than a few seconds difference either way though. It's a problem we have encountered a few times at Cheltenham. The way to prevent it is by having a *really* bossy Funnel Manager and a long enough finishing funnel so the token giver is not inadvertently causing a backlog.

It was so busy. I tried to encourage everyone to squeeze up more but it was already tight.
Maz, we were on opposite sides of the funnel and were a little busy to think about seeing what we were both doing, but it’s something to bare in mind for next time I’m timer.

Drell
A very pleasant run at Didcot this morning, with no mud at all which was a lovely change.

What is the course like Drell? It’s fairly local to me and I plan to use it to “D”off my parkrun list.

Very flat, ER, and a mixture of tarmac and grass. But no mud. Not at all picturesque or scenic. But not unpleasant in any way. The finish is quite some way from the start which is unusual, but my spectator found his way all right.

ER- unfortunate really . I wouldn't get too stressed abouttrying to the right thing.

The bigger issue is obviousky the finish funnel.

Linwood was in fantastic shape this morning. Trail parts were solid and ideal for a first buggy run there for a while. Only issue was forgetting gloves, it took a good 5 minutes for my hands to return back to normal rather than round the handlebar shape. 😂

488 less at Cardiff this weekend compared to last week. Still busy but I like the course (out and back with a loop at the top). The volunteers are great at managing the big crowd
