You don't know how far they'd run before parkrun though. I often incorporate parkrun into a longer run and I know quite a few other people that do too.

No, they were definitely unknown anyway, because I finished only a few seconds behind and heard the 'I haven't got a barcode' conversation between him and his friend. At least he didn't try to get himself added manually I suppose...

Yep, a possibility that it was a long runner. Though I'd say 95%(*) of parkrunners are rocking up for parkrun only. And even more inexcusable if you've arrived at parkrun with a bottle in hand after 10+ miles, and you wait less than a mile to chuck it away!

Westmoors - long run or short - still no justification for throwing a bottle ( or any other garbage ) away during a run, especially one on NT land.
