Incidentally loads of parkruns are getting their FB sites closed down and it seems to be mostly due to sharing lots of HQ's posts - I can't remember the last time we shared one.


Interesting observation - our page was recently unpublished by FB. We've never shared anything from HQ so while that may be a factor in some quarters it's clearly not the whole story. For what it's worth, our page is now back following us hitting the 'appeal' button. Communication from HQ suggests they didn't get to intervene on our behalf before the reinstatement. So far as I can tell, nobody really seems to know what's happening.

I rarely share anything from HQ on our page. I figure people probably follow us and the 'main' parkrun pages, so would end up seeing it twice (or three times, if they also follow our juniors).

I'm barcode scanning for the first time tomorrow. Woop woop. Have downloaded the app... it is a bit light on obvious on screen instructions. RD will explain what to do to me I'm sure... :-)

Roo, it's super easy. Point you phone camera at the Athlete barcode until you phone vibrates or bleeps (and the A number appears on screen), then point it at the position token. Rinse and repeat.

TBF it’s more like a walnut whip than a curly wurly so Sommerdale really don’t have a ducks leg to stand on and are quacking up the wrong tree.
