Our world record breaking parkrunner is opted out of emails so I’ve had to go through HQ

I believe the recommended course of action is to record it as an incident and then let hq deal with it so that local teams do not have to get involved in any discussions.

Surely that only applies to marketing emails, not queries from the parkrun team? However, it makes more sense to let HQ deal with it.

hellywobs - it’s a complete PITA. People don’t realise that they’re not just opting out of marketing. It’s virtually guaranteed that any runner i need to contact has opted out. Once they’ve emailed us it’s easy as I then have their email address, but if they’re opted out and have never contacted us there’s nothing I can do

We had a garmin handed in with the barcode on it (but no ICE details) and i had to go through HQ to contact the owner

I think our first female finisher only did 2 laps instead of 3 this morning, looking at her previous parkrun results next to today’s . I wouldn’t normally be bothered except she will be recorded as first finisher when she wasn’t and also will be recorded as having our age grade record which at 103% is likely to never be beaten
Inverness' top age grade was a boy who undoubtedly did 2/3 of the laps, and with the event being replaced it always will be. The previous record holder was a very competitive age group runner who undoubtedly would have complained but sadly died shortly beforehand.

Just remove them from the results and wait for them to contact you.
