Its a fab place. We stayed overnight in some weird log cabin just on the edge of town, no cafe the week we went and the woods were full of bark in heaps waiting to be put on the paths so we didnt run 5k, but still an amazing experience. Toulouse is much more like English parkruns, where PtB is very different.

I'd like to go to Lac de Divonne as my friend says its good and a nice vibe.

In general, I go to the cafe of my local one, but if I'm touristing by myself I haven't usually gone to the cafe (but that is because I'm pulling in a parkrun prior to something else!)

In the early day especially tourism was all about the cafe. I remeber being really disappointed when I went to a few with no after social.

Coldest for me was at Cambridge in Feb 2012 - my car said -14C when we started. My highest ever finish there, because most people were taking it fairly slowly on the snow and ice. No way could that event have gone ahead in more recent years, would not have been safe with the bigger numbers.

I've never pulled anyone in a parkrun. Must be doing it wrong.

Anyway, my first one was in Cardiff and I was worried about coming last (I didn't). It's a really nice course but a victim of it's own success in a way and is absolutely rammed at the start and takes the best part of a kilometre to thin out a bit.

Bressay is still my favourite. I had a great week up in Shetland. It's all on road and has a very nice little cafe at the end and may be the only parkrun in the world you can get to by ferry.

Bere Island requires a ferry if you are coming from the mainland.

Mount Edgecumbe has ferry access I believe?

My favourite mode of travel still remains getting the hovercraft to Medina on the Isle of Wight though :)

I just got the ferry and not the hovercraft to Isle of Wight and it wasn't Medina either. That was suffering from a wet festival weekend so we were at the other place, Ryde?

IoW parkrun moves all over the place, they've had something like 30 different locations (I know a regular who’s parents live on the island). The most popular alternative is Appleby I believe, that's where I’ve done it when we've been over.

I'm planning on doing Bressay when all this is over.
