I did enjoy Edenbrook's cancellation reason.

Cannock was cancelled. I think it shows how parkrun has become much more safety aware. Is it blame culture that has changed things ?

10 years ago we we would have run the parkrun in far worse conditions than this and just basically explained the danger, said run at own risk and don't be a dick!

Saw lots of runners out today as I went and ran my local course on my long run and have organised various parkruns in much worse conditions.

Not saying its good or bad just saying how times have changed.

Absolutely stunning morning at Gedling where I was funnel managing. There was an icy patch at one point but we redeployed a marshall to tell everyone to run on the grass instead. The RD managed to get silence at the briefing to explain and we ended up with 200 very happy parkrunners.

i wouldn't say that it was parkrun that has become more safety aware any more than society in general. Remember it is the responsibility of the local core team (specifically the Run Director) to assess whether a course is safe.

I can think of runs I have done where another Run Director might well have decided to cancel. Conversely I can think of cancellations where another Run Director may have gone ahead.

Fantastic run at Fell Foot this morning - had been a bit concerned about ice given that everything else nearby was off but discovered a near complete absence of slipperiness while doing the set up and over hundred folk had a great time. Cafe was rammed too :)

Cranbrook this morning... grief!! I'm not admitting how long a round trip that was just to get a NENYD.

Soooo cold ! -5 but wind chill down to -7 Ground like iron. My poor old boned like this not!

Fantastic crew to set it up and stand there for an hour + for our benefit!

Dibble my perception is that more get cancelled these days but then there are a lot more parkruns to hear about.

Good effort, Jef. Just up from me, though I didn't run at all this week. Still getting over my ankle roll from last week, should be good to go next week especially if its a bit warmer.
