Torbay went ahead, and I had thought they were likely to cancel. It’s a tarmac cycle track/velopark, but they said they’d announce at 8am whether they would be on or not, and they were. There is a small bit of trail at the end of the event which has large puddles which were iced over, but they cordoned those off, encouraging people onto the grass verge instead.

Here's one from Cannock Chase parkrun on 14 Jan 2017; I'm the one in the orange jacket with the blue hat.

The problem with the two I arrived at was rain falling on frozen ground, an hour before would’ve been ok.

The rules/guidance from HQ about cancelling due to slippyness haven't changed in the last 10 years, it's up to the RD/team to make the decision.

It's easier to go ahead when you have 50 runners as there are very quickly gaps, and marshals can guide them away from ice or tell them to be careful, we have 4-500 and on the first lap it's wall to wall people so nowhere for them to divert to and difficult for marshals to guide them so we might cancel but would have gone ahead with a smaller number.

Unofficial Milestone klaxon - 400 yesterday.

And hitting 250 was someone I suggested parkrun to, during a race in the same park.

I did ponder a trip, but decided to run it at Falkirk, as often (253 there, I think). 31 different venues. P-index of 8. (Falkirk, Strathclyde, University of Stirling, Edinburgh, Tollcross, Plean, Pollok, Drumpellier. I have Dunfermline and Ruchill on 7.)

I have still had no luck getting to guide run with a new to Guildford VI runner. The course is too wet and muddy and, until it dries out, will get trashed with more runners.

We had a last second diversion to Frimley instead of Sandhurst due to better conditions for my mum to walk in and I managed my fastest time since pre-COVID. Quite pleased, but I need to just have the confidence to go out fast from the off and I could go even quicker.

If anyone happens to be in East London this weekend, it's Mile End's 11th birthday (and 500th event) plus my v100. We'll be having some pacers (although I don't yet now how many or what paces) - and have space booked in a local(ish) pub for breakfast/coffee/cake etc afterwards
