I'm hoping to visit Somerdale later in the year, my plans are complicated by the fact that they are usually cancelled and my instance on playing the blockbusters game* meaning I must first visit a couple more parkruns in the area.
* Some time ago the running challenges extension added a voronoi map, showing the area covered by each parkrun, since then I've only visited new parkruns if they share a boundary with one I've already run. To get to Somerdale from either Burnham or Newport I'll first need to visit Clevdon and Ashton Court.

Mr. K.
I went to Somerdale and mid way through I was chasing down someone who was behind me

My stats: First: Beeston Last: Beeston Most: Beeston Nearest: Beeston Furthest: Bushy Fastest: Beeston Home: Beeston NENDY: Wollaton Hall (although they have only had 5 parkruns!)
I think that my POOR score is 4/73.
Somerdale looks like a bit of a bonkers course - maybe I need to go touristing at some point

This morning I walked to Wednesbury Junior parkrun, it was my Nearest Event Not Yet Volunteered and my local Juniors is not back until next week.
It was not entirely altruistic, as I extended my conquestersize lawn by two squares, and set times in two new Fetch Miles.

I am very much looking forward to being able to go on tour around some new parkruns. I have a plan for a Y at Yoevil for my alphabet challenge, but that will wait until I am down that way for a festival at the end of August and I could do with an "I" at some point - may be Ifield Mill Pond?
I'll volunteer at my local one in some capacity like course check/setup, scanning to help make sure it goes ahead. I see quite a lot of people here and on facebook have been saying the same, so I am optimistic about there being enough marshals/volunteers.

I had two conversations yesterday (about 24 miles apart) where the jist of the conversation was that there is no point winning a race tshirt unless you can show it off at a parkrun.
Anyone else look forward to reminiscing about racing on the parkrun grid?

Reminds me of club runs back in the 90s in South Africa. Wearing a brand new shirt showed you off as a newbie mind you. The seasoned guys would save the shirts a few years and bring them out later
That was in the days of cotton shirts and you got extra kudos for it being a bit threadbare

We have a few like that in our club. Lots of faded 1980s tees. And our local parkruns have lots of people sporting the latest London or Brighton marathon and Farnborough and Reading half tees. Spot who was at your race

There seems a definite thing locally where people wear their club colours at parkrun. I think it is wrapped up in Marple being organised almost exclusively by marple runners, woodbank park by stockport harriers, Hyde by strides strides....I don't unless it is deemed a club champs race.
