Had a fun time as number checker at Sandhurst today. I even got a bit of exercise and an excuse to keep warm running between the runners and the scanners to get details. No problems with the results at all today and my Achilles is thanking me for not running as well.

Great run at Isabel Trail this morning, glad it wasn’t any busier at it’s a bit narrow in places for an out and back. I think there were more car park marshals than we normally have for the whole event!!!

Seaton had very big numbers for them today - 339 - numbers swollen by people down for the Grizzly judging by the number of various iterations of Grizzly tops in evidence If I were running the Grizzly tomorrow I think I'd be resting up today

When I did the Grizzly two years ago I ran on Saturday, just a gentle jog ahead of the chaos on the next day I ran in my Grizzly top today...at Exmouth |

Cracking trip to Warwick, not the best parkrun course but coffee and snacks with ndellar Jason and Maggie afterwards made it a great morning.

I went to Southall and it’s a very quick course which I took advantage of getting my fastest 5K of the year. Bumped into loads of people I know who were also touristing now it’s bedded in a bit. Really friendly, highly recommended.

Lovely day at West Links. It was indeed. Sorry I didn’t have more time to chat but glad you enjoyed it. Hope it’s not too much longer till Hazlehead is back. Hazlehead actually contributed to the establishment of West Links. I was going round telling everyone Arbroath should have a parkrun but there wasn’t a suitable location. I’d ruled out West Links as I thought the railway path was too narrow for an out and back. Then I went touring to Hazlehead and thought, if an out and back can be fine in this path it can be done at West Links. Ironically of course the bit I thought was too narrow hasn’t been used yet anyway because of flooding further along, hence the two lap B route for now. But I wouldn’t have thought it workable till I saw it work at Hazelhead , and that with bigger numbers in the city of Aberdeen than a town the size of Arbroath is ever likely to attract. |
