Deservedly so, with that sort of cheek (says an M75+) 🤣🏅

@Torque Steer "Did a 2 hour session this afternoon - work not run - and fell asleep over my laptop. Woke to a screen filled with nnnnnnnnnnn s"
The non digital version of this was a line down the page from an incomplete last word (back in my sleep deprived house officer days with hand written notes)

Those who are running well. An inspiration! Those who are on the mend and fully engaged on the task. Also!

My abbreviated 10k race plan is on track so far. Completed a 6k and 7k this week. Mapped out an 8k and 10k for next week. Pretty much alternating weights (reduced), short recovery and distance runs.

Mindful not to overtrain too quick too fast but it’s an interesting balance to weigh up… zzz @Torque Steer @PeterFay :)

@EarlyRiser It sounds like you are making good progress with your preparation for the 10K.

@Solo Hope the week has been good and looking forward to your race.

6 miles this morning and a good run for once back to pre Covid pace.

32m18 parkrun taking me to just shy of 100 for September. Pleased enough with that especially after having been house bound due to COVID mid month.

A quick update from me 🙂 Mind has not really been on running this week which was very apparent when I turned up late for the start of my 10 mile race. I thought it was half an hour later 🤣
They were very kind and reset the chip timer but I knew I would need a loo stop which I did at 4 miles 🙄 Perfect running conditions and a SB of 1.15.22 (a different time to my watch which included a 45 second duck behind a hedge and read 1.15.03) I am just very grateful that they let me race and win my age category and £20 ☺️

Nice to read of everyone's continued progress but sorry to read of your troubles @Torque Steer

Always good to read of returning fitness after covid @Welshpoppy and @PeterFay

I think a lot of running is in our heads @Rosehip I play mind games with myself a lot when not feeling the love!

@PeterFay - that's a very decent total for the month after a bout of Covid to interrupt things.
Think I may have wrapped a zimmer frame around the organisers neck when presented with it as a prize :-)

@EarlyRiser - don't forget a taper - no point going into a race with fatigue in the legs but otherwise that looks like a good block of training distances

@NZD - still a very useful parkrun outing after an enforced layoff.
If you really want to drop your PB time it may be better to target a date some 10 weeks away and do a block of training specifically aiming at that date and just use intermediate parkruns, and your 10K, as training outings?

@Canute - good progress maintained, well done

@Welshpoppy - decent time on feet this morning, hope the achilles problem is dissipating.

@alehouse - thought the Foxes were going to do it yesterday!!

@Rosehip - I thought that DIY arrangement was the other way round - you spot the DIY and then get hubbie to do it :-)?
I have had a tough time since Mrs TS had a cataract operation as she can now see things at a whole new level of detail!!

@Solo - was that 10m of HM!?
Excellent bit by the organisers to change the chip timing for you - it must have been a big field for you to make up half an hour?

I haven't forgotten about my autobiography - but have been a bit distracted of late.

Feeling a bit less woosy so had a gentle stroll around the local RHS garden and rewarded myself with a spiced rum hot choccie and the ultimate carbo loading cake - a Fat Rascal - bettys.co.uk
