@alehouse No discomfort in the knee this morning. Yesterday’s session was 4,6,8,6,4,4,8 minutes of jogging with 1 min walk recoveries. I had been aware of a scarcely perceptible transient pull in right vastus medialis during the 6 min epoch following the first 8 min epoch, Fortunately there was no sign of any lingering damage during the subsequent 4 minute epochs, so I finished with an 8 minute epoch. I have been aiming for a total of around 40-45 minutes of jogging in my recent sessions. That is near the upper limit of what I can do without appreciable fatigue at present. My goal by the end of this 10-week programme is establishing whether or not my knee can cope with 40 minutes of continuous jogging on easy terrain. At present my lack of overall fitness appears to be a greater limitation than my troublesome knee. I am discovering that in my late 70’s recovery of fitness is a very slow process. |

To misquote @Canute, at present my lack of overall fitness appears to be a greater limitation than my troublesome hamstring tendon. I am discovering that in myearly 70’s recovery of fitness is a very slow process. However unlike the aforementioned, I am limiting my total run to around 20 minutes for the next few weeks. Currently having a break from cross training in the garden; quite warm and sunny after a drizzly start. Wordle in four. |

Meant to say, have you represented English Masters before, @Solo ? If not, if you have the chance, I would go for it otherwise you may regret it in the future!

@Canute @alehouse I dread to think what recovery of fitness is like a decade from where I am now. Now is bad enough as I have found this year. Use it or lose it applies very much! @alehouse no, I haven't and tbh I think it will be hard in this race. Currently there are three exceptional FV60s registered so maybe I should just do it as it would be a slim chance 🤣 Plus I know @Welshpoppy wants me to buy her that promised coffee if I did succeed 😘 Very windy here today but I will do a short easy run later. |

@Solo if you did go to Swansea, you could take that pot of home made jam that @Welshpoppy asked for, I haven't forgotten about it. She could have it with that promised coffee from you.

Wowser it would be my lucky day @Flatlander @Solo . Seriously it is a long way but who knows what is for us so if you get the opportunity go for it. I thought it was 10k which is September but if half the Swansea half is in June and usually warm. Along seafront on road on way out and prom on way back. Flatlander you have a remarkable memory 🙂 |

@Flatlander I am not sure I could be trusted with the jam, it might not get there 😋 @Welshpoppy yes, it is the HM on 8th June. Nice to see your distance creeping up again 🤞 My run was okay but hr too high for effort, feels a very mild cold though so annoying. |

@Solo Perhaps I'd have to give you 2 pots to take, one for each of you . Or would that just mean there would be 2 pots that didn't get there?
