I'd quite like to send my bowels back over the border to start screening, because they're Scottish bowels and my mother had a screening-detected bowel cancer.

It's 60 here in Wales Columba!
The only time I had a general health check (bloods, BP, etc) was when I changed GP surgeries a year ago.
It's the seemingly trivial (?) things that go wrong that give me cause to go to the GP anyway--lately thanks to being bald for the last thirty years--sun damage to the skin on my head has been treated. Thankfully I did start wearing a running hat when running just about thirty years ago so hope that that's been a good preventative measure against the more serious skin cancers. The dermatologiy dept at the local hospital strongly advised keeping skin on my head out of the sunshine as often as possible! It might be an "epidemic" in waiting with the shaved head look being taken up now by so many...

I always wear a hat to keep the sun out of my eyes and the protection of the top of my head is a bonus.

60 is it, Steve? The only reason I thought it must be 65 is that I couldn't remember ever having been through the rigmarole of the test in our old house, which is where I was living at 60.

I see a lot of gentlemen of A Certain Age with sun damage to their scalps. And the edges of their ears.

The other benefit of wearing a hat whilst running is that it keeps the sweat out of my eyes.

I have no chance of a sun burnt bald head :-p

I do use high factor sun cream on my ears, which most people either forget or don't think about.
