Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

Sorry, DocM. It's a bit of wake-up when things like that happen, isn't it? Hope your friend recovers OK.

I always feel quite young in my head, and forget how old I'm actually getting. It's even worse for my Mum, I think - she can't believe she's so old, she's got a daughter who's over 60!

I got a call-up from my GP, but I know my blood pressure and blood sugar are normal, don't need to know my cholesterol, and am addressing as many modifiable chronic disease risk factors as I can, so I didn't make an appointment.

Doc - that's very sad, hope both friends make good recoveries.

Never been called in for check-ups. I turn up at the clinics for whatever jabs are going. Saw GP nearly two years ago for results of X-ray on knee, and he took my blood pressure while I was there (it was fine).
That being said, I had a Funny Turn this morning in church, came over all faint. Was supplied with a drink of water and subsequently a cup of coffee and biscuits, felt fine ever since. May or may not have been anything to do with nearly an hour's run before breakfast; but I'd recovered from that (and had breakfast).

That and maybe the heat Columba. Glad you are okay.
Never been called in from the gp but I do attend all clinics - breast screening, smear test and do the bowel screening.

Yes, that too LG; though I'm old enough for the breast screening and smear tests to have stopped, and I rather think the bowel screening has stopped too, - anyway, it's a long time since one dropped through my letter-box.
