One of the joys of running for me is the lack of faffage. The thought of taking off a wetsuit after a cold swim doesn't bear thinking about. I was always the last to get dressed after PE

Sea swam with the Sea for the Soul group yesterday at Lowestoft. I held her towel and took pics |

I’ve been knocked off my usual routine by what we suspect is a new COVID/definately a virus. I’m reaaalllyyy fed up 😱😥😝. Those who know me know that means I’m just sat bored to tears and missing plans! This is winter 4 for me. Never really lost the buzz and very lucky to have lots of options in our area I’m a dipper to be fair. And the swims are very much about mental wellbeing and fun. Being in the water does wonders for me personally I never went to a wetsuit mainly because I just didn’t know what to buy. Also I’m not swimming events or anything so I learnt I could do what I wanted with less kit. I also don’t like faff It’s great seeing all the locations I have paid for one swim and was utterly horrified 😂. Call me Mrs mean but I grew up mainly by the coast and think we’ve a born right to get in for nowt 😂😂😱 I’m now neopreneless all year round. It’s much more about feeling the water for me and understanding what my body does with that. This time of year that restricts the time in water however it makes for easy change after and less washing. One tip we’ve developed in our group is the flannel wash mitt. You can get them at places like Dunelm. £1.20 each. Soon as out whack them on your hands and instantly your hands got a windproof drying layer and you can still take all your other wets off easily with them on. Once your into first set of layers drop the damp mitts and put fresh dry gloves or mits on and bingo! If any of you are near Colchester, Mersea Island or Clacton or Frinton check out Bluetits Colchester (my group) Bluetits Holland on Sea Frinton Sea Swimmers Bluetits Clacton There’s a lot of underground Facebook groups too. It’s really ace you can find people to swim with all over Do any of you have any contacts in Ireland? Waterford area specifically? I’ve a trip this year and wondering about potential to swim |

Sorry that was a bit longer than intended 🙈 Oh and DT one thing I really love is a run/swim run and then dunk at the end. Or it could be run/paddle? Photos are ace |

I'm so envious. I'm down to one lake now which is 45' drive away and I struggle to justify that for 15' in the water. I know that there is good OW swimming in Ireland but only know about Dublin. I have swum off Wexford in the summer and it was glorious. Paddled in winter - freezing. |

Not swimming currently but I have renewed my OW club membership so hoping to get going again in May. Far too cold for me at the moment!

I saw that earlier this week and shared it. So many people in Bristol wearing them in the streets
