Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

I’m sure this must have been posted before but anyways:

I finished Al Alvarez’s Pondlife last month. I really enjoyed it. This adds some colour to the words. Not that much is needed, Alvarez’s thousand words paints the picture.

On the other hand, here's a different BBC link. Don't take swimming advice from a boxer. bbc.co.uk

Colonsay has not disappointed. A swim most days including a moonlit skinny dip last night.

Arundel Lido has turned the heateing off, it's cooling by about 1deg per day, it'll be perfect for the rest of this week. Not sure how long they'll stay open unheated.

I went for a September skins solstice sunrise swim in the North Sea this morning. Thought I’d find it very cold as I haven’t been in for a while, but I was fine once I dunked myself. Water temp was forecast at about 14C with air temp about 15C.

It was a lovely swim, but I reckon I might have to wrestle myself back into a wetsuit soon.

1200m in lake yesterday, skins, was lovely.

(Just as well as work today is crap!)

Hoping to keep going weekly, and have booked a cold water introduction session in a couple of weeks with a fab swim teacher.

There didn't seem to be a thread devoted to open water swimming, so I thought I'd start one.
