Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

Have a chat to the coach at the Masters. I know mine trains in all strokes and you really only need freestyle.

A Tri club may be of more use. Though the coach at masters may be happy to help you focus more specifically.

I may look at a long swim next year. I had hoped to do WOW last yr byt couldn't get the training in due to that viral thing going on.

Please keep coming in to tell us how the training is going.

Skins dip in Escomb lake, near Bishop Auckland in Co. Durham yesterday. Nature reserve so just plants, water, martins swooping on flies.
Park in the street, follow a path by allotments across a field...

I did a mile this morning.

A very pleasant 19c but my hands went completely white.
Unusual as usually ok to around 15/ 16c when I need gloves and boots

Skins swim at Caversham yesterday while the kids did the inflatable aquapark, lovely. I may sneak back there once school starts if it remains open midweek.

The sea is relatively warm down south at the moment, but I'm not looking forward to it cooling down! Completely flat this morning so I managed a bit of doggy paddle!

I think it varies (the sea down south) - earlier this week the sea in Swanage bay was pleasantly warm but this morning in Sidmouth it was distinctly chilly - the goosebumps on my arms didn't go down at all :-)

There didn't seem to be a thread devoted to open water swimming, so I thought I'd start one.
