Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

I really like Blue Seventy because they have an 'Athena' size option for those of a non-beanpole construction. I am 5 ft 5 and a stocky size 12. The Athena medium fits me but is built for someone my height rather than 5 ft 11! They do have a sleeveless suit but not in the entry level model. They're great quality though

Our time in Ambleside is drawing to a close. I've swum in:
Coniston

Windermere
Rydal
Loughrigg

Grasmere

Ullswater
Elterwater/River Brathay

Pip has swum in all of them except Windermere. He loves it!

It's been so warm & enjoyable!

Arrived in Coniston and Winelegs you are right. The lake is a great temp right now. I brought gloves just in case but didnt need them

We are with my OH’s family so my swims will be done around what the group is upto but also I am sneaking out early doors for some run/dip/run action before breakfast so am hoping to be in the water alot

Your tour of the lakes sounds fab!!

That would be very easy to get to for me, and I could certainly rustle up some friends to make a team (several of them swim at Clevedon quite often) but I would need a winter's worth of swim training to do it justice. If only they'd postpone to next Spring ;-)

It doesn't look like a hazardous sport, yet...

There didn't seem to be a thread devoted to open water swimming, so I thought I'd start one.
