Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

Got back into the loch for the first time in about 6 weeks. It didn’t feel too cold, maybe because I was kitted in wetsuit, hat, gloves, socks & swim shoes rather than just trisuit before.

Good to be back in though & millpond flat mmm

Wetsuit fit is very personal so definitely a good idea to try some before you buy/rent. Here's a few things to consider based on my experience - not definitive!

How much bouyancy the wetsuit has and where. Some people like more bouyancy on the legs and hips to help them get a streamlined position. Others prefer 'neutral' bouyancy as they find it difficult to keep their feet in the water or get lower back straing otherwise .

Also think about what stroke you like to do - you'll want something with less bouyancy in the hips and more flexibility in the chest ad shoulders if you're planning on doing much breastroke.

Fit varies a lot by brand so try several and find which one works best with your body shape. Paricular things to look out for are how tight it is across the shoulders, and where the neckline falls on your body (nobody likes chafing).

hiya people,

First ever swim in a wetsuit this morning after trying a few on and hiring one for the winter.

water temp a balmy 10 degrees so felt the benefit but one thing I noticed was buoyancy in legs made my kick lazy as I normally kick hard to keep level in water. and dint have to as much

Great hours swim though
