Lovely swim in the local lake I'm a member of. 16oC. A mallard mum and her 11 ducklings plopped in close to me. <3 I inwardly melted for a bit and then swam on. Needing to get my endurance back up. If anyone can recommend a programme and/or challenge, that will be fab. |

fozzy that sounds like an excellent idea. I have a day off tomorrow and I'm going to visit Hilsea lido in Portsmouth. Anyone been there? hilsea-lido.org.uk |

1st OW Swim for me today - fantastic, and did one more lap than I expected to be able to as well!

The water was beautiful for my swim on Saturday. It's deep dock water so only just getting up to 16 degrees. I've ditched my wetsuit for the last lap the last few times I've been but Saturday was the first time this year I've not bothered taking it at all. It was warm enough to just get in and swim without any faffing, and sunny enough to sit on the dockside to dry off before I got dressed, so minimal faffage at both ends :-). My only complaint now is that the sessions are limited to one hour - if I want to do over an hour I'd have to pay double. While an hour seems not quite long enough, 2 hours at my current fitness level would be too much - and I know I'd feel cheated if I paid for 2 hours and got out after 70 minutes. I seem to have forgotten how tiring open water swimming is as well, apart from an essential supermarket trip I lost the rest of the day to eating cr@p and lazing around the garden |
