Good to see you, Luiz.

I also struggle with the length of the sessions. I'm not v fast, so can't get very far in an hour but don't want two.

My other option for an outdoor venue allows you to swim for as long as you want once you're in the water, but they're very strict on entry time (must arrive within 10 minutes of the time you're booked in), and insist on a tow float if you're swimming skins. Plus that's a Sunday morning session and my only option for getting there is to go when my husband's due to start work at 8am!

That's tough. Everyone here has 50 or 60 min sessions

I'm looking for some advice on how to stop my wetsuit chafing the back of my neck. I'm doing some event this year where wetsuits are mandatory so have been training in one. I use Body Glide but am still getting quite bad wetsuit rash on the back of my neck. Can anyone recommend other things I could try to reduce the chafing?

Have you tried wearing a buff underneath? Bodyglide usually works for me.

Also check that you don't still have protective bits covering the velcro fastening in places. Sounds really obvious, but often it's not easy to tell and some velcro will stick to the protective covering then move about a bit.

Booked in twice this week - Friday and Sunday. Hooray!

Work has been crazy busy and keeping me away from swimming. Not good.

Thanks Scribbler, those are really helpful suggestions. I'll try a Buff, and check the velcro (I've never thought to look at this so there might still be packaging attached!)

Hobie - I managed to swim twice in my new wetsuit before I noticed there was still a cover over part of the velcro.

Or that the part that's meant to cover the velcro doesn't, so that the velcro chafes. Get someone else to check when it's on.

There didn't seem to be a thread devoted to open water swimming, so I thought I'd start one.
