Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

Do you think there is room for another companion swimming thread just about Lidos? I'm interested in getting one going for reviewing our local lidos and I'll be trying to get out to at least two new ones a month over the rest of the season. I like the history and architecture and the communities that seem to develop around them, so I'll write up some 'Lidopedia' stuff about them and include what it's like to book, facilities, atmosphere, history and such.

Also, is it OK to add lidos/open air pools to the OWS map?

Hi all, I ventured back into the water yesterday. In a minor miracle my wetsuit still did up, and my new local lake were very understanding and let me leave my crutches by the 'in', and let me get out there instead of the 'out' :-)

their website is a *bit* slow :-o :-)

Went for a swim in the Thames on Monday and it was very busy with boats and SUP/kayaks. Not being very visible apart from the glow of my fishbelly white skin felt quite vulnerable.

My new LOMO dry bag tow float with flag attachment came today, perfect for another, safer swim in the river. :-)

That sounds good. I'm OK with lidos on the OW map. I think there might already be some. Also OK with discussion of lidos here.

There didn't seem to be a thread devoted to open water swimming, so I thought I'd start one.
