Evening all. Just popping in to say that the Running is Bullshit podcast has a good interview with Jane Pangbourne all about menopause, perimenopause and running. runningisbs.com Her website is menopausalnotmad.co.uk which I’ve not explored yet, but which was referenced a few times on the podcast. Hope this is useful! |

I had an interesting review with my GP regarding my HRT yesterday. Have been having bleeds quite frequently since about January. Cycles have been between 11 days and 24 days but mostly around 14-16. 12 bleeds since April, only one that was significant and pretty painful. The others were short lived and relatively painless. GP feels that because I’m on a high Oestrogen dose (Evorel 100), I should have had my progesterone doubled. Apparently that isn’t “on license” but is recommended by the British Menopause Society. GP has also referred me on the 2 week urgent gynae pathway to get an ultrasound and a chat with a Gynae bod. Hopefully not a biopsy. She feels it’s extremely unlikely that it’s cancer and was in two minds as to whether to refer me. |

Hopefully just a precaution Katie. I did see some reports that Dr Louise Newson was recommending high oestrogen but not also increasing progesterone and lots of people were having worse symptoms. |

Thanks. I doubt it will be anything. No other symptoms apart from the bleeding. I will let you know.

Well worth having that checked out, KatieB. Most times everything turns out to be fine but if everything isn't fine you want to know as early as possible.

Just to reassure you that if you do need a biopsy it can be an OK procedure. I had one and it was a bit undignified and uncomfortable but not too painful. I know other people haven't been as lucky!
