That's brilliant, DQ. I miss my early morning (well, 7am) strength sessions - I also found that I could turn up feeling a bit ragged through lack of sleep and leave feeling awesome.

as a lovely safe non judgmental place to ask ....

please settle an argument for me!

Friend - holding your abs in and squeezing your butt checks is a valid way to tone muscles (read in a magazine) and if you do these 2 things throughout the day eg when sat at desk or at photocopier it will make a difference and help you look good for summer

Me - (picks self off floor laughing) no

See I argue that there is no tension in the muscle, it's not actually doing anything, and that even if it did do something that you wouldn't ever be able to do it enough even if you "held for 30s then release and repeat" for hours. Am I right or is the fashion magazine (the kind that also says lose a stone in 4 weeks etc) on to something? (hope I am right!!)

But it needs to be specific and controlled.

About This Thread

... a weights wire for women.

And in case you're wondering about that title, well, I like alliteration and one can be too po-faced about the use of girl/lady/woman.

Here's a strength standards for women thing Duracel found for us
