Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

Improving, Craggy. I think I'm giving it a few more days though. Maybe another week. No point making a little thing into a big thing, as the actress said to the bishop.

Fingers crossed. Managed press ups and burpees with no trouble yesterday. Push movements (so tricep-heavy) doesn't bother it but hard pulling (pull ups, curls, rowing) do. I think when I do let myself loose on the rower again it'll be a nice easy paced, light pull and repeat it for a few days before I'll feel happy to yam on it again, and even longer before I'll get back on the pull ups and the full weights program.

Hi All. Having bought a Concept 2 just before lockdown and getting into it via the April Fool challenge on the C2 website, I finally stumbled across this thread and the automatic import tool at the weekend. Am working back through some of the discussion for training ideas, so hopefully won't ask too many dim questions... Some serious looking times in the list over there --->

Hi Rich - I started rowing at the beginning of lockdown and have been following The Pete Plan beginner version linked from the wiki in the sidebar. That has worked well for me to get me going whilst I have been reading up on all sorts of related bits. Stroke Ladders are my current favourite discovery, great fun.
I see you've logged some serious mileage already - great stuff.

Glad you've figured out what you can and can't do Nellers, and at least you've got a few other toys in your mancave!

Welcome Rich! A wise choice purchasing a C2 it'll be a great investment in you 💪 and well done for logging some good metres already, the April Fool challenge was certainly a baptism of fire!

Just an easy 5k for me tonight.

Morning. Welcome to Rich963, you'll find a wealth of info in the wiki of useful things to the right --->. The various flavours of Pete Plan are good, the Wolverine is more serious and needs a bit of understanding and interpretation, and Concept2's workout of the day is always worth checking for ideas.

CW is sneaking up on me on the mileage chart and thinks I can't see her ...

Another stroke ladder for me today. 3 x 15 minutes, counting down from 18 spm to 26. I wish I'd tried these things before. With setup and rests included, the best part of an hour and 10,000 metres just flew by. Now rather sweaty, pleasantly knackered, and feeling good!

Hi Rich, welcome to the thread.

First row for a few days. 2k warm up and 2k warm down, sandwiching this months C2CTC 1:00 tt.

Have been feeling OK so just went for it. Happy with the result.
356m total. Average 1:24.2/500m. 42s/m. DF 135.

I dropped off over the last few strokes.
I have never rowed at that s/r before and, even on sprint finishes, rarely break through 1:30.

Might have another go to see if I can squeeze a few more metres later in the month.

Thanks for the welcomes - after a bit of reading via the wiki (albeit barely scratching the surface, no doubt) the beginners’ Pete Plan looks a good starting point so I dipped my toe in with a 6 x 500m this morning. I like the way the plan includes a bit of detail for each session rather than just listing times and distances, so we’ll see how that goes for now.
