So here's the thing: Lockdown has meant I've had too much time on my hands and too much boredom driving me to just get on and do some exercise.
I tend to get a bit enthusiastic with stuff and sometimes that causes niggles or worse.
Well, I seem to have done it again. Weights and circuits and rowing appear to have pulled/strained/sprained something at the end of my right bicep. It seemed to ease up at the end of last week but since that 18km I did on Sunday (I know!) it's back.
So at least a week off rowing and no weights and being careful with it and we'll see where we are by next weekend and whether it's another week after that or not before I can get back on it.
Actually I'm just trying to give you lot a chance on the mileage table.

I was rowing at 125 df last year when I was in good shape, I've been on 115-120 recently whilst building up the metres but I'm nudging 125 again now. Like Sinj I tend to crank it up a bit for the sprints.
Oh bugger I'm sorry to read that Nellers! I hope you recover quickly mate, you certainly won't lose fitness in a week so take it easy and (try to) enjoy the rest! Even with a week off you'll probably still top the mileage league at the end of the month 💪
A steady 10k for me tonight @ r23... thought I'd see what an odd number feels like 😂

I can't bear the thought of not doing anything, Craggy, so I've got some turbotrainer sessions planned out, and I've worked out a circuit that's basically legs and back only, and there's nothing to stop me doing my core work.
Also this has given me the kick up the arse to restart the achilles rehab and see if I can slowly slowly rebuild some running.
Fingers crossed it is just a week though.

Can't keep a good man down 😉 good luck with the achilles rehab too, it would be good to have the option of doing a bit of running during the summer months.

I could do with some Achilles re-hab. Haven't run for 7 weeks and it is feeling a lot better for the rest. Haven't run properly since last August.

Be careful with it Sinj. Some people are just idiots and go and run Half Marathons on dodgy achilles then can't run for over 2 years. Don't be that bloke.
(Is anyone seeing a pattern in my behaviour here?)

You need to treat the old achilles with respect, chaps. That said, I knew a bloke whose achilles had snapped. He said it sounded like a gunshot. But he'd had it repaired and was running again, and faster than me, so all is not lost.
10,000 done this morning in a session taken from C2's workout of the day. 5 x 2000 of which 1,000 at 20 spm then 500 at 22, 250 at 24 and the final 250 at 26. I took the target paces from the Wolverine chart but went by stroke rate first.
Thank you for the pointer to the relevant bit of the Wolverine plan, Nellers. C2's workouts give a stroke rate but not pace so that fills in the gap for me.
This morning's sesh was great fun and flew by, helped along by Pink Floyd live: the Delicate Sound of Thunder. What a jaw-dropping gig that was, if I could have my time back ...

Did the paces from Wolverine work out accurately/doable for you Muttley? Nice work on that session by the way. Sounds like a fun one.

Yes, they did. Pretty much bang on for a first bash at this kind of thing. I finished the session comfortably enough but had to focus on the final rep. I've not experimented with varying stroke rates before so this was useful.

Take care, Nellers. Hope the rest does the trick!
I'm also managing a gripy calf/Achilles. The foam roller has been dragged back into commission while I'm trying to get used to running again. Not my favourite instrument of torture!
Nice work today, Muttley. I'll have an eye on the Wolverine paces too when I next do a stroke ladder session, though I don't have a recent 2K time (and don't plan to put myself through that pain just yet), so will have to guess a bit.
Delicate Sound of Thunder has to be my favourite live album ever. I discovered Pink Floyd too late ever to see them live, so make do occasionally with blasting DSOT through the car stereo.
