Glad you've got something sorted Rog.
If I haven't mentioned him to you before Shane at Dark Horse Rowing is great for technique and drills and stuff, and since lockdown he's been doing some regular row-along livestream sessions. Downside being he's in California so timings rarely make any sense for me to join him!

Thanks, yes, I've watched a few of his vids. Very well done and informative. I think i'll do a few of those soon.
I think I'm going to stop the Pete Plan beginners version and concentrate on shorter stuff and drills. 30 minutes seems to be about my natural limit (for now) on the rower. I do want to get a 10000m recorded though so will do a 9000 next week and hit the 10 in the following week then step it down.
8000m done today at 24 s/m if you ignore the bit at halfway where i had to get up to shake and towel off.

One of the big things is that you need to get the correct movement pattern "grooved", which you can only really do by rowing a lot BUT as you get more tired faults will inevitably creep into your stroke. Pushing your limits early on will probably result in you practicing deteriorating form so you get really good at rowing badly!
Keep it relatively short and do plenty of drills, then build slowly from there would be my advice (and I wish I'd known that a couple of years ago because I've then spent a lot of time working out the kinks in my stroke sine then!).

Good advice, Nellers. I'm definitely losing it a bit toward the end of my longer pieces but feel much better on the shorter ones or when concentrating more like on the stroke ladders. I also feel if I kept the distance increasing it may affect my running adversly - whereas now i think it is complimenting it nicely.

G'day. 4 x 15 mins, each with 9 mins at 5k pace and then 6 at marathon pace - as per the Fletcher plan's projections. An excellent session, really enjoyed it. All in all about 14,000 metres covered. And confirmation that about an hour is as much as I can handle before discomfort sets in. I don't know how guys can do half and full marathons -- they must have arses of cast iron.

That sounds like a good plan, Rog - and good advice from Nellers, as always.
Good session, Muttley. Do you take any recovery between the 15 min blocks, or is the MP section supposed to be the recovery?
Many thanks for the advice re mixing up rowing and running training, Sinj and Muttley. I’m going to try fitting in two decent shorter runs a week and let the rowing handle most of the long/slower stuff. Hopefully that will keep the running injuries at bay but still allow me to run a 5K now and then.

A decent rest between the intervals, CW -- 4 minutes. Plenty of time to wipe down, grab some water. I paddle gently during them.
Good luck with the combining running and erging. The non-impact nature of the C2 is ideal for this.

That's a big score on your one minute Sinj well done! And you smashed that 300m mark Rog 💪
I haven't rowed since Monday as I had a tight chest Tues-Thurs, then came out with a chesty cough on Fri, thankfully my Covid test came back negative today. Hopefully back on the erg in the next few days

Glad it's not THE cough Craggy, and that your recovery is quick.
I'm thinking I'll give the erg a try tomorrow. I did a 2 hour turbotrainer session today so the legs are probably a bit beyond giving it a little test row today.
