That’s a bugger Craggy. In normal circumstances Concept2 are brilliant for support and spares. Hopefully they’ll be as good in these strange times.

Muttley what Rog said. Tcx manual import picks up the lot. Auto import gets the outline only.

Ah, right you are Rog and Nellers. I shall revisit that later today.

Craggy - You are the Man Who Broke the Erg, I am in awe of your raw power :-)

(Although seriously, what a pain and not something I've ever heard of before, C2s are generally bombproof.)

Thanks guys, yeah they're usually really good Nellers, I've emailed them so will await their response 👍

Haha Muttley yes I wish I could claim it was my raw power that broke it, but I was just pootling. Think my erg was protesting about the fact I've gone from lightweight to heavyweight 🤣

Apparently there is a known fault called "box frame metal fatigue" on Ergs shipped between 1st August 2006 and 19th April 2007 (see link below). So if your erg is this age you can request a reinforcement kit free of charge from C2.

It's a little late for me but I'm hoping they'll ship a replacement box frame. In the meantime I've managed to make it safe to use at a steady pace and completed another 2349m to complete todays 12k 😁

Ah, is that the fault that you've encountered? I was aware of it but not seen it in action. I purchased my erg in July 2007, shortly after they'd fixed it.

Yes I think so, I bought my erg second hand but knew it was around 2006/7. A guy in our online club works for C2 and he says they'll sort it on Tuesday.

Yes still streaking... for now 😉

Amazing that these things are getting on for 15 years old and still up for it. And ours are the lucky ones to be kept and loved at home. I've seen some in gyms and on military bases that get hammered day in day out and still come back for more. Astonishingly well engineered.

They are an incredible piece of kit, I love the fact that you can pretty much replace every part yourself.

Someone posted a photo on the C2 logbook Facebook of their 1989 model, the monitor only recorded up to 10k and then returned to zero but how many other pieces of gym equipment would still be on the go after 31 years!?
