It's going to take time and patience, Muttley. I don't think you're going to see "fitness gains" while you're still less than 100% health wise.

From personal experience when I had a bout of the old COVID in 2023 it took a good couple of months for my resting HR to get back to something like normal.

2 x 18 min at r20 with a 2 min rest again tonight. With warm up and down and the rest metres that clocked a bit more than 12k so I'm a bit tired now.

You're right of course, Nellers. I'll stick with it. I'm reluctant to can it for any length of time because at my age (approaching 65) I'm not going to regain lost fitness as rapidly as I did in the past.

Guys, do tell me to shut up if you get fed up of my whingeing!

Whisper it softly but I think I am now making progress. The pace is still way slower than pre-covid but the hr is beginning to come down. I'll see if this continues for the next couple of workouts and if so, I'll look at gently increasing the exertion.

It's been blowing a hoolie here in sunny Cornwall for the past few days so I've been on the rower rather than out for a jog.

That's good news, @Muttley . Hopefully that's continued through the week and you're feeling a bit more NFM (Normal For Muttley).

I clocked 200k for a month in January. Hadn't managed that since June last year before the most recent back flare up. We're away this weekend so I'm struggling a bit to get everything I want to do done on the Erg. Aiming to get out there and have an extended lunch break today to get through an hour-ish of UT2, but I'll see how things go.

I'm away from the erg for the weekend but I just had a quick check to see who's making the early running on the Feb league: No-one!

No metres logged. Nothing. Nada. Zip. Zilch. Zero. A duck. Naught. Nil. A complete blank.

I'm not angry. I'm just disappointed. ;-)

Damn. Missed my chance to sprint to the top of the table even in my current crocked condition :-(

LOL, what a great start to the month! I'm also on the injury bench: I've trapped a nerve in my shoulder.

0/10 would not recommend.

Oh no! Trapped nerves anywhere are bad news @Oranj . Hopefully it frees itself and settles down soon.
