Heading up to MIL later today, then a walk at Bradgate park tomorrow, Christmas dinner as usual and then over to my mum for Boxing Day and grandma on the way back on the 27th, so it will be busy as usual.

Just the two of us this year, we’ve usually hosted FiL in recent years but selfish as it may seem we like having a quiet time, having got used to it while living abroad. Did visit my mother (our sole surviving parent/in-law now) just a couple of days ago and her brother is staying with her over Christmas so no one is actually going to be solo over the holiday period. Just picked up a 5kg goose which should give us some leftovers |

We have a full house of my mother, both daughters, one son in law and two grandsons one of whom is teething. It is noisy, chaotic and fun. This will probably never happen again so we are making the most of every day and are just grateful that at least for this year four generations get to make memories together.

Who pressed fast forward? How is it Xmas Eve already? I am feeling more organised than usual and unusually I'm working (regretting life choices), largely so I could save the leave for next year but also we're not hosting anyone this year, most unusually. We are at my brothers Xmas Day, in-laws Boxing Day and have meals booked out with friends Friday and in-laws Saturday. So hopefully rather stress free Xmas if not busy. Must try to see my neighbour today, its her first Christmas without her husband and last year she knew he wouldn't make this year so not the best time for her at all. Thinking of all who are also finding the whole festivities challenging. |

Merry Christmas and Happy NewG(rrr)
Happy Christmas Eve everyone. I've already said it on the Giving Up Alcohol thread, but just remembered that's not everyone in the world! Hope everyone is heeding Fetch's wise words and not stressing. I'm doing the food, so I am stressing! Except I'm not, cos they'll just have to have what they get! G |
