Brilliant Gymfreak. You're really getting that fitness back.

My next challenge is to get round Dartmoor Discovery on Saturday and make the cut offs, 5:15 at marathon point. Tough for me as it's very hilly and 3,300 feet to marathon point. I did manage it 2 years ago but I had to run hard and did end up doing a tiny PB for the event, my 11th time I've done this race. Getting older it's even more of a challenge, but I'll give it my best shot. I need to run at 60% WAVA to make the cut offs

Well done Shades, LD and GF. Smashing the +60%.

Calculating my next 60% WAVA and Banbury 5 next Tuesday. It's an easier course than the previous two rounds Friday 5 and Rugby 6 so should be able to fall over the 60% line.

Tonight sees me attempt the Banbury 5 and round 3 of the EMGP.

Hoping for 61% but see how it goes and recovery from Sunday's hot and humid run.

Good luck WW!

Shades how did you get on?!

I might possibly have a number for a 10k tomorrow, just waiting to find out if I’ve managed to get it at the mo. I haven’t managed 60 post baby yet for 10k so would like another go as it’s an undulating course but reasonably quick!

Good luck, WW!

Corstrphine 5M tomorrow, where I’m hoping to go over 60% for the first time this year

Gymfreak - I failed. I have to be in top form to make the cut offs and it just didn't happen. I knew when I got to 17 miles that I wouldn't make the marathon cut off so I carried onto the 20 mile point and then got on the bus back to HQ. But I made the most of the day, weather was lovely and the moors looked amazing, tiny foals just born, lush in the wooded valleys. Had a good banter with the other runners on the bus, there were a lot this year that didn't make the cut offs. So I enjoyed the day, I will try again next year.

Normally, for me to be at my best, I have to crank up the mileage, I tried a different way this year, lower mileage. I did have a couple of good races but I was inconsistent. So back to the high mileage again, I know it works for me.

Ah good effort though Shades, it’s such a hard race! At least you still got an beautiful run in, and that you know what works for you.

I’m still only on 3 runs a week at the moment, I would like to up it to 4 at some point with 3 rides on the other days. I can’t train twice a day any more so it’s become a new way of life trying to do both things while only doing one thing a day whereas before I could just do both every day!
