Well done WW and Deinonychus on your latest runs ππ»ππ»
63.95% at parkrun today for me with 23.39, pleased with that as I picked a social parkrun rather than a faster course πππ»

55.75% for my parkrun today, that gives me something to work on.

Thanks all. Fastest parkrun time this year this morning, but a minute and a half slower than my race time on Wednesday, so only 58.96. Portobello is quite flat, but very busy with lots of tight corners so not very fast. Plus I was a little late this morning, so didnβt get a very good position at the start. Should make a trip to Edinburgh parkrun soon, as probably wonβt have any trouble going over 60% there.

Well done LindsD that's a cracking WAVA. I must give PJ a go sometime.
I loved Potobello parkrun when we visited some years ago Dein. We extended our run to incorporate a long run along the seafront. It was a lovely run. Know what you mean starting at the back though.
That's a peg in the sand Alpenrose. You go for it.
I go into semi-hibernation now. It's time for some long runs and slowness for me. I have Snowdonia to prepare for.
Although I have Kimbolton half in August and Silverstone 10K in Sept.

LindsD - congrats on your WAVA PB.
WW - now a 60%+ WAVA would be a great achievement at Snowdonia.
Tonight I have a local and very popular Carnival Race, 5.51 miles, hilly apparently, I've never run it before. Think I need to run 59 minutes to get a 60% WAVA, might be a struggle for me. However, I'll be happy if I just don't fall asleep on the sofa and miss the start as I did for my last race.

Blimey Shades that's an odd distance. At least it will be a course PB. Let us know how you get on. Hopefully the weather will be favourable.
I certainly not sure I'll achieve 60+ at Snowdonia. It will be my third time running and it nearly broke me last time. I've a plan in my head for 2020 based around the result of Snowdonia but that also depends on my employment circumstance.

WW - it's a carnival race, the police shut down the town and we run one lap of the town then a rural longer lap, it's 5 miles 900ish yards. So I guess it started as a sort of fun run and developed into a proper race, permit etc and prizes. Highly contested by local club runners. I've been race referee a few times and it's a great atmosphere, thought I'd better have a go myself. Forecast was for thunder, lightning and heavy rain, which would be a shame for the organisers but now just the rain.
So you might become a full time athlete then next year? It's a few years since I've done Snowdonia, and not since they changed the course with more off road. Of course at that race the weather is a key factor.

I'm too old to be an athlete Shades.
Your race sounds like Whissendine 6 we ran recently. A local village race as part of the village week long festival. It's a lovely event / race.
