62.44% at Elmbridge 10k today, 49.39. Not sure what to make of that. It was a bit hot for me, each mile got slower 🙈 Typically, it had clouded over an hour later!

Some people run very fast here, it’s a flat river towpath route. I’ve never been one of them 🤷‍♀️ I just seem to need road, im quite a bit faster on road, even if it’s hilly. Suppose I’m a bit disappointed but very pleased I at least hung in there and didn’t give up on a sub 50 even when it felt awful and I was desperate to stop. I have the 3rd in the series at Yateley in a couple of weeks, I really want a 48.xx Tried my best today guess that’s all you can hope for

WW - you're never too old to be an athlete.....

GF - well done, great time. I'm the same even if the off road is a good surface, I don't feel I get the bounce back that I get from lovely smooth tarmac.

Had a difficult run at my carnival race, went off too fast and never really recovered from that. I felt a bit sick, thought is was the humidity but I was poorly yesterday so think I was coming down with a bug. I finished in 1:00:10 59% WAVA, so will go back next year and try for sub one hour.

Now there's something to aim for - just being able to run anywhere near that age!

Well done GF. Friday was very hot and humid. But 62.44 is pretty good.

42 minute at 96 would do me Shades. 42 minute 5k at the moment I think I'd be happy with.

I guess we all go off too fast Shades it's difficult to pace. I hope the weather held up for the event. It was sticky, humid and in the Northamptons very wet. Give it a shot next year.

Homer - I agree. If I can still put on a pair of running shoes at that age I'd be happy

WW - I know a lot of us go off to fast in a race, but usually I can recover from it but I didn't. But a new race distance for me so technically a PB!
The rain held off which was good as all the crowds are out at the start/finish where the sponsor is, a local pub, and the police keep the roads closed for a couple of hours. Was a lovely atmosphere.

(having been to look): so we have.

Mine would be lower if my local parkrun weren't nice and flat.

I managed a 60.13% WAVA at Corby parkrun yesterday. Which I'm rather pleased about considering 1) The heavy manual labour I did the day before (pergola post hole digging) 2) The day before running 5 miles. 3) Being old.

I want 24.11 but will settle for 24.55.
