I'm back, I got 22:39 in today's parkrun in Küchenholz, Leipzig, Germany. It was the first one after over 2 years of lockdown. It's a course PB for me. The last faster one was in October 2018 with 23:25 so I'm pleased where I'm going.

I'm in marathon training, so the legs are quite tired from 50-60 mile weeks and lots of sub-threshold running. I couldn't really move my HR beyond my LTHR of 170. I averaged that for kms 2-5, the first one was needed to get my HR up. Normally, I'd expect my HR to be over 175 in a 5k. So there is room to grow after the marathon is run on 8 May. After some recovery, I'll focus on a fast 5k and 10k for a while in summer before I transition to half marathon training in autumn.

I ran 32:55 in today's Marlow 5 (miles) with Fetch telling me my 5K split was 20:08 - very happy with that. I think I need to find a flat (or net downhill) parkrun on tarmac and a pacer soon!

That's a terrific 5k split. It doesn't sound like you'll need a pacer though if you're only doing 5k and not 5m.

I reckon I will! I was flat out at Southall and only got 20:15 recently. Today, without someone to follow I think I would have talked myself out of the effort.
