Scribbler, it seems as if you had a great time on your rest day. Sundays are 'rest days' for me, except being involved in playing for 2 Sunday services at our chapel, as well as other roles there, would leave little time to fit in running as well!

Tomorrow, I hope to have a 5-mile stagger; the weather will determine where, and what sort of session.

Great updates everyone mine is less interesting this bug has fairly got hold now. I’m sat in bed breathing like someone who has severe lung/chest disease. I ache everywhere.

I get the odd cold but nothing this bad for I don’t know how many years. I had flu once about 18yrs ago it’s not quite that bad but it’s getting there.

We went away Friday for MrGG’s birthday I was a mess all weekend.

Think a chat to the doctors is in order tomorrow. I’m stressed that my mileage will be off I need 1.5m in by Friday. 😩

No run this weekend. A headache on Saturday and my alarm didn't go off this morning. Probably for the best as my right hamstring felt a bit sore anyway.

I did manage to run a few hundred yards with my daughter in her wheelchair but that was all I could muster. A missed week usually helps me get more fired up for the following one, especially at this time of year when getting out of bed isn't that easy.

Get well soon GG! Sounds quite flu like. Make sure you get plenty of rest and get better.

Don’t stress about mileage. It’ll still be there when you get back to full health. You don’t NEED 1.5 miles by Friday :-)

A rest is good. GG, don’t beat yourself up about 1.5 miles. It pales into insignificance when compared with last year’s mileage. Health must come first.

The Scribbler
Failed on the long run before work this morning, despite putting my kit out and actually getting up early. Things are a bit unsettled at work and I felt like I needed more sleep after turning things over in my mind a lot. I've got my kit with me to do a shorter run from work this lunchtime.

I have an appt at the docs this afternoon I had a horrendous night coughing and my skin feels like it on red alert.

My line manager who is a friend and colleague first and foremost as she was only given this stand in role after our line manager left hasnt responded to any messages I’ve sent this weekend despite her saying keep me posted how you are and your health comes first it’s not like her at all. I’m resisting the temptation to log on. I have a call at 1 which I’ll do but feels weird no response from her even the one asking if she is ok! I am an over thinker.

Right can’t run but I can watch a running movie - Brittany runs a marathon then!

I need Netflix! Berkeley marathons would then be my no.1 choice!

About This Thread

Maintained by geordiebells
*EDIT* in the current situation we are not entering races but I think we can still log any plans we may have over the coming months, whether it is learning a new skill, ticking jobs off a list, moving house(!), doing alternative exercise, aiming for training hours instead of miles, writing to family & friends, finding inventive ways to be together virtually or even entering virus races please fill in the planner and I’ll update this thread and keep our little social group going to share our goals.

Everyone is welcome, whether you don't want to set an official target or you may be aiming further but still want to pop by for a chat/offer some words of wisdom or just because the door is always open and kettle is on.

(When you go in give yourself a colour so I know you're wanting to be on the sheet so I can keep it tidy)

If you update the race planner after I've updated the header drop me an fmail or a reminder (or 2) on the thread so I know to update. Thanks
