Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

Dochart Various difficulties on the way to the start made me concerned I'd miss this; 18m or so in I was equally concerned that I'd made it. Found this much tougher than expected and faded badly in the last few miles, including a first experience of 'the wall' at around 22m which reduced me to an awkward shuffle to the finish. That was entirely down to my failure to train hard enough and/or my mistake in getting the nutrition right on the day and I can't speak highly enough of the race itself, the organisation and the enthusiasm of the marshalls and the participants and this race is deserving of being made a permanent fixture. However, if you don't enjoy running on your own then it may not be for you - outside of the checkpoints I barely caught a glimpse of another runner in the last 20m. Once established on the towpath the route is pretty straighforward. The complicated bit through Stratford was well-marshalled and route cards were provided to guide runners where the towpath switches banks, past the junction with the Grand Union Canal and over the Brandwood tunnel. The checkpoints were fantastic with very encouraging marshalls boosted by fantastic support from the relay runners. 16/42

krusty Not as bad as I thought it would be, got stung by a wasp in mile 3 didn't half sting. Had the Garmin on heartrate so didn't know how long I had been running, just got the mile times as they came up, went through five gels and three bottles of lucozade sport.
