Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,

Baldy Dave First half marathon in 22 years(then I'm doing Sheffield next week!)
My initial target was sub 1:50 but I've been going well in training so I will be aiming for sub 1:45.
Looks like it's going to be a wet one.

Got well ahead of my planned 8 min mile pace. As I reached the 13 mile marker looked at my watch to see 1:39:30 and convinced myself I could run the last 0.1m uphill in 29 seconds to break 1:40 'sprinted' like a maniac (slavvering like a rabid dog) being roared on by the crowd to heroic failure.Still well chuffed.

beders well pleased with time, legs still tired from FLM, 5th race in 3 weeks. Two running mates left me behind after 2 miles , managed to pass one at 9.5 miles and then outsprint the other in the last 150m . Hard race, uphill for firast 5 miles then more undulations before the blessedly downhill finish and even then you had a last uphill bit right at the end. Almost collapsed after the line but really chuffed I held on in the sprint at the end.

Heavy treader First race of this distance, thought 2 hours would be a bit of a task but flew round. Very sore afterwards feet took 2 weeks to recover, lost my first toe nail - now a proper runner evidently.

Jim Royle Final race in preparation for Edinburgh marathon. Too much training in legs for a PB, but hope to beat last year's time at Leeds.

Mushroom Start area needs sorting out - too many people in such a small space, but race was very good, with more closed roads compared to previous years. My time was better than hoped for so I mustn't grumble..!

northernslowcoach would like to be around the 2hr10 mark, not sure whether can pb as that was set at pancake flat BM and Leeds is a little lumpier!***update*** a little disappointed not to be nearer 2hr10 but set off too quick and struggled later but a considerable course best!

SimonF Post London Marathon wind down - doing it with work for charity*******Official chip time is 3 seconds slower than my pb. Never mind. Had a great race today and kept pretty constant pacing despite the hilly first half. Finished 117th overall out of 3000 and 16th in my age group so have to be quite happy.

wendyjames Needed loo all way to 7m marker and struggled with a couple of hills. Did negative split (7 miles 1:16, 6.1 miles 1:04) so quite pleased I 'caught up' a bit. Suffering now with back of knee/hamstring but it was worth the return home!
