Bob! Plan was to run the first half in 9.30 miling, and then to run some Marathon pace miles (8.30) toward the end.

Started off slowly, and just ran how I felt (which was faster than 9.30 milin). Bumped into Derek at about 4 miles, and stayed with him until about 12 when I decided to put in my Marathon pace miles. Did the last 8 miles at an average 8.34, considering that the bloody big hill was in there, and the whole course was up & down, I'm pretty pleased with that!

CanaryYellow Run the nearly 10 for the last 2 years with the race in 2007 being my first race ever (couldnt just be normal and do a 5k or a 10 k could i? Oh no) I came 5th from last but i was hooked.

Turning right rather than left is going to kill me. Mind you so is the 20 miles so pick your poison i guess.

jayneb really enjoyable race through Bury villages, well organised.

Hill training required prior to race. Mile 9 hill was a killer!!!

Def a good last race priot to Marathon. I have been told London Marathon is easier than the Bury 20.

Metal Martin A tough course. Marathon prep - but a good 20 mile PB. Nasty scratches on leg because of a bramble attack during a loo stop. But just over 10 min miles, even with tough hills - I am happy.
