Wally Quite a tough race as I started in a wave that was too fast for me and so ended up running the whole way on my own pretty much. Quite pleased overall considering the wind, heat and bridges!

Seb09 My prediction was 1:45 but didnt feel that i would be that close to it.Previous half was 1:59:56 so 19 mins PB, cant be all that bad.My thinking going round was 8 min mile and i should be ok, then when i got to mile 9 i was struggling ,the heat was killing me.From mile 7 i was on my own till the finish, passed a few runners but none were up for chatting. I was in need of something to take my mind off the running.Should have took my mp3 in hindsight. Water stops where frequent and all went well, had a toilet stop at 7 mile but only a few seconds.Wore headband to stop the sweat going in my eyes and it worked.Mile 12 had nothing left, just kept thinking run strong and so i did.Came 66/488. and by this timre no one was up for chatting

Siggers Sorry guys, just didn't feel right, thought it was going to be nice and flat but there was tons of bridges over connecting canals, and although they are only about 20 feet high they are quite steep, the further into the run we got the quicker they seemed to appear. I think Congleton will be a better shot at the sub 1:40!

Turkhish Harder than I expected with the seemingly endless canal bridges and the hot weather - I actually got sun burnt! glad to finish as I faded badly from around 11 miles.

Yeti Sorry to those who bet! Hard going today, decided to just plod it rather than try and beat PB (aka my only other time at this distance). Bridges were OK to start but became a chore towards the end.
