I had to stop giving platelets as the blood wouldn't go back in properly: after 3rd time with a forearm that was just one huge bruise we called it a day and now I just give blood (easily, as there is a permanent donation centre 2 mins from my office)

I go every 6 months or so but more often or not the drop of blood refuses to sink! they sometimes then do the other test but not often pass that either! but I keep trying! OH goes more often and they always take his! I feel a bit second rate!

I donate platelets plus plasma every 5 weeks, most recent was 2 weeks ago so it is time to schedule the next. I keep the red cells for my running!

Gooner (The Midnight Runner)
My sentiments exactly, my missus went the other day, who btw is scared stiff of needles and after doing the iron test and all that said her veins were too small and she got all upset
